Whether they're cleaning up the plains of their state after a tornado or defending freedom abroad, the Kansas Army National Guard is ready and willing to serve. Its Soldiers were part of the invasion of Omaha Beach on D-Day, and during WWI the entire Kansas Guard was called to service. More than 500 of its members volunteered for active service during Desert Storm, and in the past few years Kansas Guard Soldiers have served in Bosnia, Iraq and at the Mexico border.
